Set default sender account

Set an active sender account as its owner’s default for future routing that omits an explicit sender.

POST/api/sender-accounts/{sender_account_id}/default
HTTP referenceScope user session (owner/admin)Updated June 3, 2026

This page documents the canonical HTTP contract for this endpoint.

This endpoint requires an authenticated user session; developer API keys are blocked for mutations. The account must be active, support send when a nonempty capabilities list is present, and be in the current organization. The actor must be the owner or an admin; admins can manage another owner’s default. Managed-fleet senders additionally require the actor’s current allocation and mailbox access.

Changing the default affects later routing that omits explicit sender selection for that owner and channel. Success returns {"success": true, "account": ...}; the account is the serialized record and the example is abbreviated.
